NHS Unscheduled Dental Care Appointments

From 1 April 2026, NHS dental practices are required to provide a limited number of unscheduled care appointments for patients who require urgent dental assessment, including patients who are not currently registered with the practice.
At Ramsey Dental Surgery, we have a small number of NHS unscheduled care appointments available for patients experiencing dental pain or urgent dental problems. These appointments are subject to availability and are released on the day.
Patients wishing to access an unscheduled care appointment should telephone the practice on 01487 812312 after 10:00am, Monday to Friday. Our reception team will ask some triage questions to assess the nature and urgency of the problem and advise whether an appointment is available. Please note that these appointments are for urgent dental problems only and do not provide routine dental registration or ongoing NHS dental care at the practice.
For urgent dental problems outside our opening hours, or if we do not have availability, patients should contact NHS 111 for advice.
Ramsey Dental Surgery has a large, long-established NHS patient list. At present, we are not accepting new routine NHS patients.
If you are already registered with us as an NHS patient, please continue to contact the practice in the usual way to arrange appointments.
It is important to note that many patients are entitled to free NHS dental treatment or may receive financial assistance toward their care. This often includes children, pregnant women, new mothers, and those receiving certain benefits.
